I’ve been checking this list of Where to go on a European cruise. So far I’m leaning towards going for a Norway cruise

I’ve always wanted to see the beauty of Northern Europe, the Fjords, breathe the clean air and sleep on the green grass…

Amazing scenery and colors!

Day 14-15 Budapest

The Danube River brings us to the capital city of Hungary, Budapest, which is divided by the river into two parts, the Buda and the Pest.

I visited both side and loved Pest! In Pest we went to Heroes Square, Szcechenyi Baths, The House of Terror, The Hungarian Parliament, and The Great Synagogue and to the Market Hall.

We also experienced a traditional Hungarian farewell dinner on the ship. Goulash is simply delicious. It’s a type of stew and we bought some ingredients to make our own back home!!

Here end our European cruise through Europe. I sincerely enjoyed every bits of it. We had amazing weather and I cannot complain. I did not experience any sickness and am looking forward to book more trips and European cruises! Next time I may want to do the Norwegien routes.

I will post more pictures as I get back home and have time to go through the gazillion pictures we took over the 15 days of travel.

Home sweet home, I am coming back!

Day 13 Sailing

We are sailing to our last destination. Budapest! Meanwhile, we are enjoying entertainment on board. There is also a beautiful indoor swimming pool I am looking forward to go to later tonight!.

Day 12 Vienna

Coming to end of our European Cruise. Sigh. But oh boy how I loved Vienna. For several reasons. First, it is an amazingly romantic city. I think, if I had to choice a romantic gateway, Vienna would be in my top 10 list. The Gloriette (opposite Schönbrunn Palace) and the Giant Ferries Wheel (in Prater) are very recommended. You will find your hubby and yourself walking hand in hand day and night in Vienna, just like Mason and myself, hihihi.

Vienna is also one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, and one of the most beautiful of any European Cruises. To enjoy the full Vienna experience, we made sure to catch the Ring Tram. It will bring us to the most imposing and beautiful buildings in town, including the Town Hall, the Parliament, the Hofburg Palace, the Museum of Art History, the Natural History Museum and the State Opera House where we catched a classical concert. I didn’t see the inside of all of them, but the architecture is with no doubt amazing. In the morning we walked to the Schönbrunn Palace and its vast gardens.

Day 11 Melk and Dürnstein

A beautiful day in Austria! Day 11 of our European cruises, we are visiting Melk & Dürnstein. We had lunch then went to visit the abbey at Melk. This magnificent Benedictine monastery is 900-year-old! It features Austria’s finest Italian baroque architecture. Our ship then cruised through the spectacular Wachau Valley and the ship stopped at Dürnstein. We had dinner on the ship and headed out to explore this new city. We saw the Kuenringer Castle and OF COURSE sampled some local wines from some of the local vintages. The region is well known its wine.

Day 10 Passau

Day 10 already. Time seems to fly so fast!! We are now in Passau, a city known for its historic buildings, its University, and its location at the 3 rivers and the last German train station before Austria.

Day 9 Regensburg

Regensburg. Wonderful preserved medieval city, with lots of structures and architecture that date back to Roman times.

Day 8 Nuremberg

Day 8. We went to Nuremberg, well known for the Nazi trials. We visited the ruins of Zeppelin Field, that were used in the 30s as Nazi parade grounds. We also visited the Palace of Justice, which was the actual site of the famous Nuremberg Trials. Our day included an optional World War II history tour including the Documentation Center Museum. Great information, a real eye opener on the war.

Day 7 Bamberg

More Germany for day number 7. We visited Bamberg. Its Old Town has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage, primarily because of its authentic medieval appearance. Our walked tour included a visit to the magnificent 11th-century cathedral. This cathedral was reworked in late-Romanesque style in the 13th century, and the very picturesque city hall built on a tiny island in the middle of a river. We walked around town, and as our tour guide recommend, we tried their delicious smoke-flavored beer. This city has wonderful architecture and is definitely a must-see in Germany.
